How to Prepare Your Partner for Parenthood

When you're pregnant, there are endless resources you can use to prepare yourself to give birth and raise your baby. However, getting your partner to share in your enthusiasm isn't always a walk in the park. It is important to begin preparing for parenthood even before pregnancy, but there are some simple ways to start preparing together!

Once you have a baby, your life will never be the same again. But it's important to be on the same page as your partner to understand that change is a good thing! As long as you both know that spontaneity will be rare and you will have to put your child's needs above your own, you will be in the right parental mindset.

Just remember, it's not like you'll never have fun again! Talk with your partner about still going on date nights and taking weekend getaways after the baby comes to keep your relationship strong. Find a great sitter well on advance that you both trust and know you can count on.

Listen to Experience

Though sometimes you only need to take advice from others' birth and parenting experiences with a grain of salt, it can still be comforting to talk to those who have been there and done that. Listen to how they were able to adapt to their new lives and how they maintained their relationship after becoming a family of 3.
